Micro

micro is a restaurant following high culinary standards that meet an innovative and multifunctional concept. The flexible space combines several areas to experience: Excellent dinners, enjoying drinks at the bar, easing out in a lounge and sense shining light and sound compositions. On friday and saturday nights micro metamorphoses from an atmospheric restaurant to a „club inside the club“ and complements the sound of CocoonClub with it's music concept.

 

The centre piece of the room design is a „string matrix“ consisting of a couple of thousand glass fibre strings hanging of the restaurants ceiling, blend with pulsed projections to a music to medial harmony and break with the linear strenght of the interieur.

 

The metropoitan atmosphere is furthermore supported by the international menue. No matter if goulash, steak tartare and dijon aioli, strip loin with red wine onions or variation of sushi – lohninger always hits a delicate note of aroma in most elegant combinations so that reading the menu already sounds like a fantastic journey to foreign cultures. The micro has been awarded high-class distinctions on several occasions: Among others from Gault Millau, “Der Feinschmecker” and the “Schlemmeratlas”.

MARIO LOHNINGER - Chef of the year 2011

Mario life is extraordinary and rich in variety and flavoured with surprising details. The Austrian, choosing Frankfurt as his home, cannot be categorised into one specific corner as he is merging his multi cultural influences into a new style, a style of its own. However one thing is for sure: Mario Lohninger creates only delicious and perfectly made dishes with ingredients you cannot find on the menu: heart and soul. The ingredients Lohninger chooses and uses live of their natural aromas and he abandons unnecessary experiments. For his culinary peak perfomance at the silk in Frankfurt he received one Michelin star in 2006. Gault Millau awarded Mario Lohninger as „Chef of the Year 2011“.
